Their story....
11 horses, neglected their entire life. Their owners were an older couple who both suffered physical and medical problems. These horses were going to die sooner then later in the conditions they were found. They are rescued them from that situation but it is far from over as the rehabilitation begins and they need your help.

5 yrs old Abused and Neglected "Baby"
This rescue happened quite by accident. Browsing the yahoo groups of horse enthusiasts, Patricia came across a post by a gentleman who visited this particular farm in Minnesota with the intention of purchasing a stallion and some mares and she contacted Another Chance for help. The gentleman had discovered nine horses ranging in ages from one to five confined to a small barn standing in manure and urine since being weaned. By the condition of their hooves, and having absolutely no medical records, it was apparent to this gentleman that this was a totally unsatisfactory situation. He discovered that the owners were old; the wife physically unable to take care of the horses, and the husband afflicted with Alzheimer's. It seems the horses were fed and watered, but for presumably health problems, the horses were never taken out of the barn nor was the barn ever cleaned.
When the gentleman asked if he could have the other horses as well as the ones he was purchasing, the woman said, "Take them; they are worthless anyway." So, thankfully this gentleman, being elderly himself, posted this information on the yahoo site, and one of our volunteers picked up the message. If no one would have answered this post, the gentleman would have sent the horses to auction, but he felt sorry for their experiences so far, and helped us to help the horses.
We have placed all but two who were the oldest and who had suffered the most damage, in rehabilitative homes. The featured mare is currently under the care of Rich Rauch certified trimmer.
