                Frequently Asked Questions

Question:  How can I talk to someone at AC4H?

Answer:  We are an all volunteer organization.  We handle all aspects of the rescue from hands on care of the horses to office work.  Because of this we are not always able to be there when the telephone rings.  We have a very hectic schedule but speaking with you is important to us.  We keep a phone log to help ensure we don't miss a call but some messages don't come through clearly.  If you haven't heard back from us please call the office at 610-621-5290 or email info@ac4h.com - we recommend doing both just to make sure we do get your message.

Question:  I am interested in a horse what do I do next?

Answer:   Fill out an Interested Form click here  ~~~   we will call or email you to talk about the horses in our care and your needs in a mount.

Because of our very hectic schedule we have schedule everything.  If your interested in coming to see a horse we are open almost every Saturday and can accomodate other days as well.  Please call or email with a date and time and let's see what we can do.

Question:  I made my decision and I want to take an AC4H Horse home...

Answer:  To be approved to take a horse home you must fill out and submit the Transfer of ownership Form unless specifically stated Adoption Form  We do require references and appreciate any pictures of your pets, horses and property - it helps us get to know you.  As soon as all information is received and all references heard back from we can get you approved.  Some people prefer to be pre-approved so when they are ready they have no wait.

Always Quarantine New Horses:

Regardless of where or how you transport your new equine friend our advice is to quarantine any new equine friend and always consult a professional veterinarian for assistance and evaluation of any equine problems.

AC4H makes no claims regarding this information it is simply posted as a reference. Always contact your veterinarian regarding your equine friend.

Quarantine, Quarantine, Quarantine!

Always consult a vet if you have any problems long distance advice from someone who isn't a liscensed professional is wonderful to assist in treatment when providing information to the attending vet - but doesn't take the place of the attending vet.

Always start with a mild wormer so the horse isn't bound up with parasites trying to pass causing colic.  Talk to your vet about the proper treatment method

To prepare for any new arrival always consult your vet for vaccination and options of protection for your current pets.
